If anyone believes in the Affirmative action laws in hiring, then my idea is right in step with what has been forced on to my plate so far this lifetime. My whole life I have taken a back seat in the hiring pool to anyone with a disability, an ethnic background that can declare that they are a minority or those with veteran status. By definition isn't having been out of work for 3yrs and having exhausted the 99 weeks of unemployment insurance now qualify me as having a disability? I propose that lawmakers consider moving anyone with '99er' status to the top of the list on hiring preference.
When this is argued that it can't be done, then it sure looks like a case of discrimination to me.
